Michael de Jong

Michael de Jong has extensive experience in public service, currently serving as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Abbotsford-West since 1994. During a notable tenure with the Government of British Columbia from 2001 to 2017, Michael held several key positions, including Attorney General, Solicitor General, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Minister of Labour and Citizens' Services, Minister of Forests, Minister of Health, and Minister of Finance. Michael de Jong holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Carleton University, along with foundational education from W.J. Mouat Secondary School.
