Bill Downey

Bill Downey has a diverse work experience in the field of hockey. Bill currently works as the Assistant Coach and Director of Hockey Operations at Lehigh Valley Phantoms since October 2021. Prior to that, they were the Manager of Hockey Operations at the same company from August 2016 to September 2021.

Before joining Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Bill worked as the Director of Hockey Operations at Penn State University from July 2011 to August 2016. Bill also held the same position at Harvard University from September 2010 to July 2011.

Their previous roles include serving as an Assistant Ice Hockey Coach at Penn State University from June 2008 to August 2010, a Coach at Selects Hockey from June 2008 to August 2010, and a Hockey Director at Team Comcast from September 2006 to May 2008.

Bill also has experience as a Professional Hockey Player. Bill played for The Wheeling Nailers, The Pittsburgh Penguin's East Coast Hockey League Affiliate, from October 2005 to May 2006. Prior to that, they played in the ECHL and UHL leagues from March 2004 to May 2006.

Bill Downey completed their high school education at Central Catholic High School from 1995 to 1999. Following that, they attended Penn State University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
