Matthew Phillips

Matthew Phillips is an experienced legal professional currently serving as General Counsel for Leicester City Football Club since July 2019. Prior to this role, Matthew held the position of Legal Director for Media and IP at BT from June 2015 to July 2019, overseeing legal and compliance matters for BT Sport and BT TV. Matthew's background includes significant roles at Olswang as Chief Counsel for Media and Partner, as well as Principal Legal Advisor for Content and Copyright at BSkyB. Matthew began a legal career at Linklaters and has extensive experience in media and intellectual property law. Matthew holds an LLB in Law from the University of Exeter, completed in 1995, and attended Hampton School from 1984 to 1991.
