Lennard Voortman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lennard was most recently employed at Leiden University Medical Center as the Head of Light Microscopy Facility since December 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at TU Delft from September 2015 to November 2016. Additionally, Lennard worked at DELMIC B.V. as an Application Specialist from January 2014 to November 2016. In the earlier stages of their career, Lennard served as a PhD Student at Delft University of Technology from December 2009 to December 2013. Lennard also gained experience as a Software Developer at TOPdesk from March 2008 to November 2009 and interned at LUMC in the field of Electron Microscopy and Molecular Cell Biology from September 2008 to December 2008. Lennard began their professional journey as a Member of the Board at D.S.V. Sint Jansbrug, a student association, from 2006 to 2007.

Lennard Voortman pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 1997 to 2003, they attended Rythovius College, where they did not pursue any specific degree or field of study. Following this, they enrolled at Delft University of Technology and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technische Natuurkunde, completing their studies from 2003 to 2006. Lennard then furthered their education at the same university, earning a Master's degree in Applied Physics from 2007 to 2009.
