Willem Grootjans is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Imaging Services Group at the Leiden University Medical Center, where the group specializes in image processing to enhance diagnosis and treatment decisions in radiology. With experience as a postdoctoral researcher in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the same institution, Willem focuses on delivering high-quality imaging information using advanced processing techniques, including AI. Previous experience includes a PhD in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology from Radboud University, where research concentrated on FDG PET/CT imaging for lung cancer management, as well as a Master of Science in Technical Medicine from the University of Twente.
