Diederik Smit

Diederik Smit is an Assistant Professor of History at Leiden University, where responsibilities have included serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher, PhD researcher, Editor, and Co-ordinator for the MA programme in Political Debate since January 2008. Previously, Diederik Smit worked as a Freelance author for ProDemos - Huis voor democratie en rechtsstaat from February 2012 to October 2012 and as a Student Assistant at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen from January 2008 to July 2009. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in History from Leiden University (2010-2015), a Master of Arts (MA) in Modern History and International Relations from the University of Groningen (2005-2009), and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from the same institution (2001-2005), along with a Gymnasium diploma from Nienoord College (1995-2001).
