Gavin Whitney

Gavin Whitney has been serving as a County Carlow FC Community Cricket Rugby Officer (CCRO) with Leinster Rugby since January 2019, where responsibilities include coaching rugby, developing coaches, managing school blitz events, talent identification, and supporting inclusive rugby initiatives. In addition, Gavin coaches the Ladies team at South East Technological University, achieving a 3rd place finish in Division 1 during the first season. Previous experience includes roles as a Supervisor at Dinn Ri Group, where skills in customer service and management were honed, and as a rugby coach for Co. Carlow FC, gaining valuable insights into session planning and teamwork. Gavin also completed a work placement with Carlow GAA, focused on coaching primary school children, and has worked in various customer service roles, enhancing operational skills. Academic achievements include a Master of Science in Sport Management and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Management from University College Dublin.
