Ulrich Briese has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Ulrich started their career as a freelance employee at Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in 1981 and also worked as a freelance employee at Leipziger Volkszeitung from 1989 to 1993. In 1994, they joined Verlag Ernst Gehrig as a freelance employee until 2005. In 1998, they also worked as a freelance employee at ComputerBild until 2003. Ulrich then joined Leipziger Messe International GmbH in 1999, where they held the position of Deputy Head of Press Department until 2006, and was later promoted to Project Director.
Ulrich Briese obtained a Diplom-Journalist degree in Journalistik from Leipzig University from 1988 to 1994. Additionally, they pursued further studies at Sciences Po Strasbourg, where they earned a Certificat d'Etudes Politiques from 1991 to 1992. During their time at Sciences Po Strasbourg, they focused on subjects such as Geschichte, Philosophie, Internationales Recht, and Wirtschaft.
