Carl Jones

Executive Director, DoD & Intelligence Programs at Lentech

Mr. Carl “Cujo” Jones is the Executive Director of DoD and Intelligence Programs at Lentech, Inc. He is responsible for leading existing Lentech defense programs and for driving continued expansion in DoD and intelligence markets. Mr. Jones transitioned from the United States Air Force in December 2017. He currently also serves as a Strategic Advisor for multi-domain command and control to the Air Force in the Pentagon. On active duty, Mr. Jones’ accomplishments and high-level positions within the DoD space and ICBM communities ranged from operations to national-level and DoD policy formation, and programming.

Mr. Jones served as the Vice Wing Commander and Operations Group Commander of the 90th Missile Wing where he had the opportunity to guide Airmen in conducting the Nuclear Deterrence mission. He also served as the Air Force Advisor and Nuclear Programs Analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation and the Senior Military Assistant to the Undersecretary of the United States Air Force. Mr. Jones is a graduate of the United States Army War College where he was a member of the Eisenhower National Security Group and traveled to other colleges and universities giving presentations on National Security Space issues.

Carl entered the Air Force in 1992 as a graduate of the Angelo State University ROTC program. He initially served as a Missile Combat Crew member in the 490th Missile Squadron before becoming an Emergency War Orders Instructor and Executive Officer at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. After that he transitioned to space operations as a flight commander for the Passive Space Surveillance mission at Misawa Air Base, Japan. During that assignment Mr. Jones was one of twelve officers selected to attend the United Air Force Weapons School Space Division. Upon graduation, he moved back to Japan to support the 35th Fighter Wing as their Space Weapons and Tactics Officer in the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses mission. He was also privileged to serve as the Commander, 4th Space Control Squadron, Holloman Air Force Base, NM. His unit was responsible for delivering defensive and offensive counterspace capabilities and space situational awareness, as appropriate, to rapidly achieve flexible and versatile effects in support of global and theater campaigns.

Of his many operational and staff assignments, Mr. Jones held duties as an instructor and evaluator in both space and missiles. He also served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander, USSTRATCOM, the Space subject matter expert for the Commander, USSTRATCOM, as well as the Division Director for Nuclear Capabilities on the Headquarters USAF Staff.

Mr. Jones holds 4 master’s degrees to include a Master of Strategy from the prestigious United States Air Force School of Advanced Air and Space Studies.
