Chip Paul has a strong background in software engineering, with over 20 years of experience in various roles. Chip currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Level Ex since 2022. Prior to that, Chip worked at Fandom from 2019 to 2022 as a Principal Engineer, where they designed real-time messaging systems and built 3D digital dice systems.
Before joining Fandom, Chip held several roles at Curse, Inc. from 2008 to 2019, including VP of Engineering, Director of Web Engineering, and Database Platform Team Manager. During this time, they managed development teams, maintained websites, and oversaw various engineering projects.
Earlier in their career, Chip worked at Open Biosystems as a Senior Software Engineer from 2005 to 2008, where they developed eCommerce sites and integrated accounting systems. Chip also worked at ComFrame Software from 2003 to 2004 as a Senior Software Engineer.
Chip began their career as a Software Developer at Research Genetics / Invitrogen from 1994 to 2002. Chip also gained experience as a Student Programmer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications from 1996 to 1997.
Chip Paul earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 1994 to 1997. Chip then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, completing their studies from 1997 to 2003.
