Martin W. Regehr

Martin Regehr is a partner in Lewis Roca's Intellectual Property Practice Group. Clients turn to Martin for patent prosecution in a variety of fields, including digital integrated circuits, radar, nonlinear mechanical structures, electric motors, optical communications and switching systems, semiconductors, MEMS devices, cryptography, power generation, battery systems, welding systems, and software systems. Martin has expertise in tailoring patent prosecution strategies to fit expected revenue streams.

Prior to his legal career, Martin worked in a wide range of engineering and scientific endeavors, at small companies and at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). He has designed RF and microwave circuits, written real-time software for a space telescope, developed FPGA code, and designed and tested gravitational wave detectors for LIGO at Caltech. Martin has lectured at Caltech and has given talks at technical conferences.

Martin is a co-author on more than four dozen technical publications and a co-inventor on two patents. His expansive knowledge of technology facilitates effective communication with inventors.

Martin enjoys skiing, windsurfing, and cycling. He is also a licensed helicopter pilot. In his free time, you can find him outdoors with his family.
