Martha Matheny

Martha Matheny has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Martha currently serves as the Lead Compliance Auditor at Lexington Medical Center since April 2020. Prior to that, they worked at tRMC for 13 years as the Associate Director of Revenue Cycler Support Services. Before joining tRMC, Martha worked as a Coder at Bamberg County Hospital where they reviewed and accurately assigned ICD-9 and CPT codes for surgical procedures, clinical trials, and interventional procedures. Martha also coded inpatient and observation charts, audited for missing charges, and ensured compliance with DRG requirements. Martha's career began as a Coding Analyst at tRMC/Orangeburg Surgical Associates, where they worked from January 2004 to February 2006.

Martha Matheny completed their education at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where they studied CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor). In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications throughout their career. These include Clinical Trial Billing Compliance (CTBC), IRB Members (HSR), Research Department (GCP), Conflicts of Interest (COI), and IRB Administration, all obtained in 2021 from the CITI Program. Martha also holds certifications from the AAPC, including Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) obtained in 2015, Certified Professional Coder-Payer obtained in 2009, Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) obtained in 2006, and Certified Professional Coder (CPC) obtained in 2004.
