Maria Sumner

Maria Sumner has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. Maria began their career as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET). Maria then worked as an ELL Paraprofessional for the Washington School District, followed by roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and an Intern at Ozlo Inc. from 2012 to 2016. From 2017 to 2022, Maria worked as a Technical Program Manager for Facebook, and is currently in the same role at Lexion.

Maria Sumner has a varied educational background. Maria earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Truman State University between 2006 and 2010. Maria then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Linguistics from the University of Iowa in 2015. In 2014, they were awarded a Critical Language Scholarship to study in Indonesia. Finally, they earned a Master's Degree in Computational Linguistics from the University of Washington in 2016.
