Jessica Johnson-MacKinnon

Jessica Johnson-MacKinnon, Ph.D., is an experienced aquatic biologist currently employed at LGL Limited since January 2023. Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sydney from November 2020 to November 2022 and research assistant in bacterial epidemiology at NSW Health Pathology from December 2019 to November 2020. Jessica completed a Doctor of Philosophy in parasitology, microbiology, and aquaculture at the University of Tasmania, studying Neoparamoeba peruans and its impact on farmed Atlantic salmon. Earlier research experience includes contributions to the Comparative Genomics and Evolutionary Bioinformatics group at Dalhousie University and extensive laboratory techniques in microscopy and molecular methods. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology from Dalhousie University.
