Nick Hassink is an experienced ecologist currently employed at LGL Limited since September 2022. Previously, Nick conducted research as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Lethbridge from January 2020 to June 2022, focusing on the impact of mountain climate variables on the distribution and thermal characteristics of surface-dwelling arthropods, culminating in a Master's thesis and several peer-reviewed articles. Nick's experience also includes roles as a Field Technician with the Alberta Invasive Species Council and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where responsibilities involved establishing beneficial insect colonies and conducting studies on environmental conditions affecting pest populations. Additional early career experience includes summer positions at TransCanada PipeLines Limited, performing remediation work related to Canadian gas storage facilities. Nick holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Lethbridge, completed in April 2022, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field, awarded in December 2019.
