Product Manager

Product · Remote · Remote possible

Job description

At Liaison, we’ve helped higher education institutions build better, more diverse classes for three decades. You may recognize us as the company behind the Centralized Application Service (CAS), Enrollment Marketing services and platform (EMP), SlideRoom, Time2Track, TargetX (CRM) and Othot.

Everything we do is focused on taking that proven success and expanding its scope and scale. Over 31,000 programs on more than 1,000 campuses see us as a forward-thinking partner integral to meeting their total enrollment goals — and we’re building the data- and mission-driven team that will reinforce our role for decades to come.

The Product Manager position provides an opportunity to join the TargetX CRM team.  TargetX provides a campus wide solution to help colleges build relationships and forge lifelong communications with their most important constituencies, including prospective students, current students, alumni and potential donors.  In this capacity, the Product Manager will be responsible for executing the product’s strategic roadmap by taking new features from concept to fully shaped, client-informed pitches, and driving their successful adoption by users using product engagement tools. In order to succeed, the Product Manager must collaborate closely with clients to deeply understand their true needs, with senior product leadership to align priorities, with designers to shape actionable pitches, with developers to ensure feature fit and with client support to capture insights and rapidly resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Know the client:
    • Capture and analyze user feedback (surveys, roundtables, support calls, usage data) to inform product improvements and innovative new features
    • Become an expert in the higher education domain to identify opportunities that meet their strategic objectives in new, transformational ways.
    • Champion customer requirements, preferences, configurations and settings informed by regular client contact and user metrics.
  • Shape the work:
    • Extrapolate strategic priorities of high-level features into actionable “chunks” with validated user stories, acceptance criteria and developed wireframes/breadboards.
    • Document workflows, wireframes, and other artifacts required for development.
    • Review, validate and prioritize product defects on the development backlog.
  • Ship with confidence:
    • Collaborate with Product Marketing on release notes, functional documentation and sales enablement materials.
    • Build and monitor in-app user engagement, such as guided tours, to drive adoption.
  • Drive sales and customer satisfaction:
    • Success is measured in increased sales and consistently high NPS.
  • Facilitate success:
    • Engage with customers, delivery teams, and leadership to ensure the product provides all features, tools, and integrations needed in order to accomplish business goals.
    • Collaborate with engineers and QA to ensure functional and visual design quality at each step of the software development process
    • Foster the professional development of product managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years experience working as a software product owner/manager OR working with Higher Ed CRM in another capacity (Support, Implementation, Development, etc)
  • Excellence-Minded: You aim to be a master in your craft and expect to be surrounded by colleagues who are no less than masters in their respective crafts.
  • Design-Focused: You believe that if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing elegantly
  • Innovative: You are biased towards rejecting the status quo and actively seek novel and disruptive approaches to long-standing problems.
  • Communicative: You are quick to listen and wise in speaking to promote transparent, truthful discussions. You simplify complex concepts to match the present audience
  • Collaborative: You have a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and inclusive care for others, while having the confidence/candor to productively disagree
  • Resilient: You are not fazed by roadblocks; impossible scenarios can be overcome through brilliant ideas, solid planning, and hard work.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Aha, Figma, Heap and/or Chameleon (our PM tool set) is a plus
  • Familiarity with TargetX, Salesforce, and/or higher education admissions is a plus
