Dr. Craig Bernier

Dr. Craig Bernier, CISSP, GCIH, GPEN, has held various roles in information security throughout their career. Dr. Craig most recently served as the SVP & Chief Information Security Officer at Liberty Bank - CT, starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they were the Chief Information Security Officer at ATOMYZE LLC from November 2021 to September 2022. From September 2017 to November 2021, they worked as the Director of Claim Risk & Security at Travelers. Dr. Craig also held the position of VP Information Security at Webster Bank from March 2014 to September 2017. Dr. Bernier's extensive experience in the field began in 1996 when they served as the CIO & CISO at Lightstat Inc., where they worked until December 2013.

Dr. Craig Bernier, CISSP, GCIH, GPEN, holds a Doctorate in Cyber Security from Northcentral University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Masters in Information Technology at Quinnipiac University, completing it from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Bernier also has various certifications from the SANS Technology Institute, including SEC 579: Virtualization and Private Cloud Security, SEC 560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, SEC 542: Web Application Penetration Testing, SEC 504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling, SEC 502: Perimeter Protection In-Depth, SEC 501: Advanced Security Essentials, SEC 440: Critical Security Controls, and SEC401: Security Essentials. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the CISSP certification from ISC2 in February 2019 and the GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2017. Dr. Craig is also a member of the GIAC Advisory Board since 2008 and holds the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification since November 2008.
