Alma DeMetropolis

Ms. DeMetropolis brings more than 25 years of financial experience to advise families, endowments, and foundations.

As the President of the New Jersey Market Leadership Team, DeMetropolis provides executive guidance across the firm’s lines of business within the state and is instrumental in driving community and employee engagement. She has been recognized for numerous honors by other professionals in the industry, including one of the Best Fifty Women in Business for 2012 by NJBIZ and a Top 100 Financial Adviser by the Financial Times in 2014.

DeMetropolis believes it is vital to hold a global and expansive view of the world to connect clients with the resources and strategies that care for their full financial pictures. She builds strong relationships to help support the emotional component that often accompanies wealth management.

DeMetropolis began her career as a Risk Analyst at J.P. Morgan in 1992. Since then, she has held several global roles and spent seven years on foreign assignments in Latin America and Europe. DeMetropolis joined J.P. Morgan International Private Bank before segueing to her present position in 2003. She pulls from this rich background to advise on a broad range of wealth matters and manage investment portfolios.

Propelled by her dedication to philanthropic endeavors, DeMetropolis sits on the boards of several nonprofit organizations that align with her interests, including the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, SciTech Scity, and the Nature Conservancy NJ Advisory Council. She recently completed many years of board service for Cornell University’s Dean’s Advisory Council and the New Providence Education Foundation.

DeMetropolis was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, from immigrant parents and first to attend college in her family. Through hard work and determination, she attended Cornell University, earning a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on accounting. Alma holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts. Additionally, she is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, which empowers her to develop wealth strategies that target short- and long-term goals.

DeMetropolis and her two children reside in New Providence, New Jersey. She has a propensity for languages and speaks fluent Greek and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and visiting national parks and libraries.
