W. Nevins McCann

Mr. McCann is a member of the Real Estate and Land Use and Corporate and Business Law practice groups. He has managed the execution of numerous M&A deals and has developed substantial expertise negotiating and drafting contracts. He represents real estate developers in all phases of the development process including locating and acquiring sites, entering into development and redevelopment agreements, fully permitting sites, financing, construction, leasing, and sales.

McCann has obtained permits and approvals for more than 10,000 residential units, 10 million square feet of office space, millions of square feet of retail and industrial space, and several hotels and fractional/timeshare residences. He has also completed the development of a world class golf course.

He has represented numerous redevelopers of blighted properties and has assisted clients in obtaining tax abatements for such projects. In 2010, he was appointed to Governor Chris Christie’s transition team’s subcommittee on transportation, on which he assisted with issues faced by the NJ Department of Transportation and NJ Transit. McCann also serves on the board of trustees of Liberty Health’s Jersey City Medical Center. In August 2009, he was named to the New Jersey Law Journal 40 Under 40 list.

McCann graduated from Georgetown University in 1994 with a double major in finance and international business. He went on to graduate from the joint JD/MBA program at Villanova University School of Law and Business in December 1997.
