Giovanna Punzi

Giovanna Punzi has been working in the field of psychiatry and behavioral sciences since 2010. Giovanna started their career as a Forensic Psychiatrist at the Forensic Psychiatry and Criminology at the University of Bari 'Aldo Moro' in Italy in 2010. In 2012, they became a Special Volunteer at NIMH in Bethesda, MD and a Visiting Student at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. From 2015 to 2021, they worked as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. In 2021, they began working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Giovanna Punzi obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the School of Medicine at the University of Bari 'Aldo Moro' between 2000 and 2006. Giovanna then completed their Residency Training in Psychiatry at the same university from 2007 to 2011, obtaining their Psychiatrist degree. In 2011, they were certified by the Italian Board of Psychiatry. Additionally, they were certified by the Albo Provinciale dei Medici Chirurghi - Bari in 2007. Finally, Giovanna Punzi obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Violent Behavior and Suicide from a PhD in Forensic Pathology and Criminology program between 2012 and 2014.
