Sonya Diakiw

Sonya Diakiw has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Sonya currently holds the position of Chief Medical Science Officer at both Presagen and Life Whisperer since October 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Scientific Associate and Regulatory Lead at both companies from April 2019 to October 2021.

Before joining Presagen and Life Whisperer, Diakiw worked at EnGeneIC as a Regulatory Affairs Manager from May 2017 to March 2019, and as a Regulatory Affairs Associate from May 2014 to April 2017.

Sonya also has experience in academia and research, having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Officer at the Children's Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) from January 2013 to April 2014. Prior to that, they served as a Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Research Officer at SA Pathology from July 2010 to December 2012.

Early in their career, Diakiw worked as a Research Assistant/Project Manager at JIARG, University of Calgary from January 2005 to December 2005.

Sonya Diakiw earned their Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Adelaide in 2003. In 2004, they completed their Honours in Genetics at the same university. Later, Sonya pursued their Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics at the University of Adelaide from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained a Regulatory Affairs Certificate in Pharmaceuticals from the Regulatory Affairs Certification Program in March 2017. Sonya also became a RAPS member through the same program in October 2016.
