Karl Quinn has over 18 years of experience in the technology and healthcare industries. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Ph.D. Researcher and Lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, researching trust management systems for use in Internet environments. From 2006 to 2009, they were a Senior Commercial Development Associate at NDRC, responsible for the commercialization of state funded research projects. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Research Business Development Manager at IBM, responsible for the commercialization of IBM Research-Ireland offerings. From 2012 to 2013, they were the Head of Technology Transfer and ICT at University College Dublin, where they co-founded and ran the on-demand Sprint program and was a coach and mentor for the Venture Launch and Bootcamp programs. From 2017 to 2020, Karl was the Strategic Partnerships Leader at Genomics Medicine Ireland, responsible for the development of multiple programs and partnerships for a wide range of disease cohorts. Most recently, Karl has been the Director of Data Custodians (EMEA) at Lifebit since 2020, working to enable research collaborations across multiple partners and datasets.

Karl Quinn has a Ph.D. in Trust in Internet Environments from Trinity College Dublin, an MBA (Executive) in Business Administration and Management, General from University College Dublin, an M.Sc. in Computer Networks & Distributed Systems from Trinity College Dublin, and a degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering with a focus in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin. Karl also holds a certification as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional from the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals.
