Dr. Omoniyi Omotoso has extensive experience in the field of pediatrics. Omoniyi has held various roles throughout their career, starting in 2004 as a Pediatric Resident Physician at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. Omoniyi continued their training in pediatric infectious diseases as a Clinical Fellow at the same hospital from 2007 to 2011.

After completing their fellowship, Dr. Omotoso served as a Pediatric Hospitalist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland from 2011 to 2016. Omoniyi then joined LifeLong Medical Care in 2012, where they worked as an Associate Medical Director & Pediatric Clinical Lead. In this role, they provided primary care and newborn care under a community health care setting. Omoniyi also took on administrative responsibilities, including supervising other medical professionals and leading quality improvement initiatives.

In 2021, Dr. Omotoso became the Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Omoniyi later served as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at ALTA BATES SUMMIT MED CTR-ALTA BATES CAMPUS in 2023. Additionally, they assumed the role of Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco in the same year.

Throughout their career, Dr. Omotoso has been actively involved in research, project leadership, and community health initiatives. Omoniyi has been part of various collaborations and networks focused on improving patient care and promoting trauma-informed care practices. Omoniyi Omotoso, MD, MPH, FAAP completed their education in a chronological fashion. They earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 2000 to 2004 and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine. Later, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed in 2008.

Additionally, Dr. Omotoso has obtained various certifications and completed further training. They are a certified Centering Parenting facilitator through the Centering Healthcare Institute and hold a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Champion certification from the University of California, San Francisco. They have also completed Human Subjects Protection Training offered by the CITI Program. Other notable certifications include Becoming ACES AWARE in California Training from the California Department of Health Care Services, Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care training from The REACH Institute, and completion of the Berkeley Physician Leadership program from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Additionally, Dr. Omotoso is a licensed Medical Doctor in the state of California and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
