Karim Srouji began their work experience as a Consultant at Shift Technologies from August 2011 to January 2014. Karim then joined GE in February 2014 and participated in the Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP) for two years. During their time in the ITLP, Karim had four rotational job assignments, including leading ERP implementation and support in Dubai, UAE, managing cloud migration and automation in Houston, TX, and optimizing IT costs across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.
After completing the ITLP, Karim became a Senior Associate in the Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) at GE. As part of this program, they undertook various assignments, including operationalizing ASC606 compliance at GE Power, performing product cybersecurity audits at GE Energy Connections, and addressing critical system audits and security governance at GE Renewable Energy.
In 2018, Karim transitioned to GE Renewable Energy, where they served as a Senior Manager of Cyber Risk & Compliance until April 2022. In this role, they played a key role in enhancing cybersecurity measures, implementing system changes for ASC 606 compliance, and developing a roadmap to address access, vulnerability, and incident management deficiencies.
Currently, Karim Srouji serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at Lifen, starting from April 2022 onwards.
Karim Srouji, CISM, has a diverse educational background with a focus on cybersecurity, information technology, and engineering. Karim completed the Sloan Management Executive Education program in Cybersecurity for Managers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. Previously, they pursued Information Technology Project Management at Indiana University - Kelley School of Business from 2014 to 2016 but did not mention obtaining a specific degree. Karim holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Karim'seducation journey began at Collège Protestant Français, where they completed their French Baccalaureat S in Math from 1991 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Karim has acquired several certifications, including the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in October 2020, the Homeland Security and Cybersecurity Specialization from Coursera in February 2019, Archimate 2.0 from The Open Group in May 2013, TOGAF® 9 Certified Enterprise Architect from The Open Group in April 2012, ITIL V3 Foundation from APMG-International in February 2012, and ISO/IEC 27005 Risk Manager from LSTI in June 2021.
