Jamie Renbarger Miller

VP of Oncology & Patient Experience at LifeOmic

Jamie has a passion for finding and implementing innovative ways to achieve optimal health and wellness for individuals impacted by cancer and other severe illnesses. She has over 20 years of experience as a pediatric oncology physician-scientist. Jamie’s research questions are always grounded in her experiences caring for cancer patients. Throughout her training and early career, Jamie developed a foundation for using genomics to optimize patient care. Her initial research focused on prediction of anticancer treatment-related side effects, especially chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. Jamie’s drive to understand the long-term effects of cancer and its treatments and identify innovative approaches to optimize health and wellness in people impacted by cancer and severe illnesses have come to the forefront. In an effort to fill a crucial gap in care, Jamie founded a non-profit, Karuna Precision Wellness Center in 2020, a center focused on providing coordinated integrative medicine services aimed at helping people to live healthy, happy, productive lives. Her role at Lifeomic compliments this incredibly well—with a focus on improving the health of the population, thereby preventing severe illnesses when possible and improving long-term health and wellness during and after severe illnesses.

Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Rochester and a medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine, where she also completed her pediatrics residency training. She then went on to Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Cancer Center in Houston to complete pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training. She relocated to Indianapolis after completion of her training to join the faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) where she also earned a master’s degree in clinical research as part of the Clinical Investigator Training Enhancement Program. Jamie is the Caroline Symmes Professor of Pediatrics and Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at IUSM.
