Paul Y. Liu

Chief of Plastic Surgery at LifeSpan

Paul Liu, MD, FACS, is chief of plastic surgery at Rhode Island Hospital and a professor of surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He most recently served as chief of surgery at Roger Williams Medical Center.

His research interests include the use of genetics to speed healing and developing new therapeutics for problem wounds.

A Marshall Scholar at University College in Oxford, England, Liu went on to receive his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his surgical internship and residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he also served as senior/chief resident in plastic surgery and completed his research fellowship. Liu was a Boettcher Foundation Scholar and a finalist in the Rhodes Scholar competition. He earned the Outstanding Mentor in Plastic Surgery award and the Gordon Fellowship, both at the Lahey Clinic.
