Belay Ayalew is a Water and Sanitation (WASH) expert with extensive experience in engineering and program management across various humanitarian organizations. Currently serving as the Global WASH Engineering Manager at Lifewater International since July 2022, Belay previously held the position of WASH Program Manager at International Medical Corps, where responsibilities included overseeing the implementation of humanitarian responses. Earlier roles include Environmental Health Program Manager at the International Rescue Committee, where Belay ensured project coordination in refugee camps, and Roving WASH Coordinator at Plan International Ethiopia, focusing on water supply and sanitation project planning. Additionally, Belay has held engineering roles at Oxfam, Action Against Hunger, and Amhara Design and Supervision Works Enterprise, along with academic experience as an Assistant Lecturer at Wollo University. Belay Ayalew holds a BSc degree in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering from Arbaminch University.
