Samir Tartir

Samir Tartir has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Samir started their career as an Instructor at philadelphia.university in 2003. Samir then worked as an Analyst/Database Developer at Simtix in 2004, where they were responsible for designing and providing database objects and procedures for a real estate sales web project. Samir also worked as a Database Programmer at PADGETT BUSINESS SERVICES® in 2006, collaborating with a team on the implementation of unemployment and income tax applications.

In 2004, Samir joined the University of Georgia as a Research Assistant, working on projects related to semantic discovery and spatial analysis. Samir contributed to the development of algorithms for discovering meaningful relationships between entities in RDF graphs and designing components for a NatureServe-funded project on spatial distribution modeling.

Samir had a brief stint as a Visiting Scholar at The University of Jordan in 2011 before joining Manage Middle East as a Team Lead. In this role, they led a team from 2011 to 2016. Samir then joined philadelphia.university again in 2017, this time as the Head of the Department of Web Engineering. Samir was responsible for founding and promoting the department and managing various administrative and academic matters.

From 2018 to 2020, Samir worked at Mawdoo3.com as a Senior Research Scientist and later as a Knowledge & Data Manager. In these roles, they led a team in building a knowledge graph from Mawdoo3 articles and managed the ETL life cycle of AI data.

In 2021, Samir became a Knowledge & Data Researcher & Consultant, providing consultation and training on data strategies and working on research projects. Currently, they are working as a Product Owner at LigaData since 2021, overseeing the success of their telco data management platform Blaze and leading AI initiatives to enhance their products.

Samir Tartir has a strong educational background in computer science. Samir obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Computer Science from The University of Georgia, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Science - MS degree in Computer Science from The University of Jordan, studying there from 1999 to 2003. Their undergraduate studies also took place at The University of Jordan, where they earned a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Computer Science from 1994 to 1998.

In addition to their formal education, Samir Tartir has also obtained several certifications. Samir completed the GDPR Certification, specializing in data protection and privacy, from Udemy in January 2021. In December 2020, they completed the Data Analyst Bootcamp 2020 certification from Udemy. Prior to that, in November 2020, they completed the Product Management for AI & Data Science certification, also from Udemy. In October 2020, they obtained the Digital Transformation Specialist Certifications from Coursera. Lastly, in October 2020, they completed the Intro to Hadoop and MapReduce certification from Udacity.
