José Carreira

José Carreira is a Senior Process Integration Engineer at LIGENTEC, responsible for leading the development of new modules and continuous improvement projects. Previously, José worked as a Process/Fabrication Engineer, where validation of tools and process optimization were key duties, alongside project management of the European AMBROSIA initiative. Prior to this, José served as a Materials and Process Engineer at PICadvanced, focusing on the characterization of InP PICs and microfabrication process development. José's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Strathclyde, where research centered on GaN-based micro-LED devices, as well as multiple research fellow positions at Universidade de Aveiro, involving optical and structural characterization of various materials.
