Keye Sun

Sr. Photonic Design Engineer at Lightelligence

Keye Sun has extensive work experience in the field of photonics design and research. Since August 2021, Keye has been working as a Sr. Photonic Design Engineer at Lightelligence. Prior to this role, Keye held multiple positions at the University of Virginia, starting in September 2007. At the university, Keye worked as a Research Scientist from August 2015 to July 2021 and as a Graduate Research Assistant from September 2007 to August 2015. Keye's research work at the University of Virginia focused on developing laser-based manufacturing methods for Si solar cells and Ge-based photodetectors, resulting in successful demonstrations and characterizations of novel technologies in these areas.

Keye Sun attended the University of Virginia from 2007 to 2013, where they studied Photonic devices, Microwave photonics, Si photonics, solar cells, and laser-material processing. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Physics with a specialization in Optical science and technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2003 to 2007. In June 2019, they obtained a certification in Photonic Integrated Circuits from MITx on edX.
