Rachel Longan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience in providing psychotherapy and parent education. Since May 2015, Rachel has operated a private practice focusing on individual, group, child, and family therapy, specializing in work with parents of children with special needs, children and youth with neuro-cognitive differences, and LGBTQ individuals. Additionally, Rachel has served as a Parent Education Workshop Facilitator, leading series aimed at enhancing parenting skills. Current roles include Psychotherapist at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired since May 2013 and Family Advocate at Downtown Berkeley YMCA since July 2006, where Rachel directs developmental programs and conducts weekly support groups. Previous experience includes therapy internships and leadership roles in various organizations, complemented by a Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy and School Counseling from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s in Music from Mills College.
