Ayon Basumallik

Prior to joining Lightmatter, Ayon was a Software Architect and Development Manager with MathWorks where he contributed to ten bi-annual releases of the MATLAB language. He co-designed and implemented the novel Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation technology that powers MATLAB and enables optimizations that have improved the performance of MATLAB programs by several orders of magnitude. He has authored multiple papers and patents on JIT compilers and compilers for high-performance computing. Ayon has a PhD in Computer Engineering from Purdue University and a BTech (Honors) in Electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
