Klaas Van 'T Klooster

Klaas Van 'T Klooster has been working in the medical device industry since 1989. Klaas began their career as a Physical Therapist at Fuesi Schulcentrum in 1989. In 1990, they became a Physical Therapist at Health Focus, where they worked in an international residency program, primarily based in North Carolina and Texas. In 1997, they opened their own private clinic in Utrecht, The Netherlands, where they employed two people. From 2000 to 2006, they worked as a CRA, Manager Clinical Research Benelux, and Manager Clinical Research EMEA at Stryker. Klaas then worked as a Clinical Research Manager EMEA at Wright Medical from 2006 to 2008. From 2008 to 2020, they worked as a Manager External Research and Manager Clinical Research_ Spine EMEA at DePuy Synthes Companies. During this time, they coordinated IIS funding requests, defined Clinical Evidence strategies, and redesigned an online IIS portal. In 2020, they became a Freelance Medical Device Clinical and Regulatory specialist. Currently, they are the Director of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs and Head of Clinical at Lightpoint Medical. Klaas is also a Member of the Dutch standards committee revising the ISO14155 (211 version)- Clinical Investigations of Medical Devices_Good Clinical Practice (GCP) since 2005 and has been its chairman since 2014. The (revised) 2020 version was published in July 2020.

Klaas Van 'T Klooster obtained their BSc in Physical Therapy from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences between 1985 and 1989. Klaas then went on to pursue an Msc in Bewegingswetenschappen from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) between 1993 and 1996. Finally, they earned their Diploma from Kleine Zeilvaart (KZV) in 1997 in the field of Marine.
