William Foland

William Foland has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on optical SOC technology and deep learning algorithms for natural language understanding and speech recognition. William is currently the Chief Scientist and a Consultant at Lilac Cloud, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for the semiconductor industry.

Previously, they were the Senior Director of Optical SOC Technology at Marvell Semiconductor, where they consulted on deep learning for natural language understanding and speech recognition, as well as advanced digital algorithms for mass storage. Before that, they were the Vice President of Digital Design at Cirrus Logic, where they managed the development of the flagship product line and patented over fifteen inventions for complex digital algorithms related to mass storage.

William Foland received their PhD in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to that, they received their Master of Science in Computer Science from the same school. William also holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

William Foland reports to Harish Devanagondi, Founder, President & CEO. William Foland works with Jay Shah - Co-Founder & CTO, Bhakta Raghavan - Managing Director & Co-Founder.
