Michael Montez's work experience begins with their role as a Writer for Vector Student Engineering Magazine from August 2019 to May 2020. From May 2020 to May 2021, they served as VP of Workshops and Events for Cockrell School Cares.

Michael Montez completed their high school education at Boerne - Samuel V Champion High School from 2014 to 2018, obtaining a High School Diploma. Michael then attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2018 to 2022, enrolling in two different schools. At the Cockrell School of Engineering, they pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering Honors. Simultaneously, they also pursued a degree in Humanities with a focus on Liberal Arts Honors at the College of Liberal Arts. In 2019, they participated in the Globex Julumester program at Peking University, where they focused on Chemical/Biomedical Engineering. Michael furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science at The University of Texas at Austin from 2023 to 2025.
