Matthew Smith is the current Principal Lawyer and Head of Clinical Negligence at Linder Myers. Matthew has over fifteen years of experience working in the legal field, with a focus on personal injury and clinical negligence.

Matthew Smith began their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Beardsells Solicitors in 2003. Matthew then worked as a Solicitor at Leech & Co Solicitors Ltd from 2005 to 2006, before moving to Thompsons Solicitors in 2007. At Thompsons Solicitors, Matthew worked as a Solicitor for one year before being promoted to Team Leader / Supervising Solicitor in 2008. Matthew held this position until 2012, when they left to join Sternberg Reed Solicitors as a Personal Injury Solicitor.

After just one year at Sternberg Reed, Matthew Smith was recruited by Gadsby Wicks Solicitors to work as their Clinical Negligence Solicitor in 2013. Matthew remained with Gadsby Wicks for two years before moving to Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK) in 2015.Matthew spent two years at Slater and Gordon, before joining Linder Myers as their Principal Lawyer and Head of Clinical Negligence in 2017.

Matthew Smith attended The University of Sheffield, where they earned their law degree and diploma in legal practice. Matthew also holds a bachelor's degree in law from the same school. Prior to their studies at The University of Sheffield, they attended Aquinas College and Bramhall High School.
