Jennifer G. Wells

Outpatient Therapist & Director of the OCD & Anxiety Treatment Team at LINDNER CENTER OF HOPE

Ms. Wells is one of the core members and current director of the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder/ Anxiety treatment team at Lindner Center of HOPE. She provides outpatient therapy for children, teenagers, and adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders utilizing the evidence-based techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention.

Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, Ms. Wells worked in the Division of Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). During her 13 years there, she held roles in the Consult/ Liaison Service, performed psychiatric evaluations in the Emergency Department, and worked as an Outpatient Therapist. Ms. Wells has been involved in two major research studies in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She was a Co-Investigator of the Cincinnati site of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Treatment of Adolescents with Depression Study (TADS). She also held the role of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Supervisor in this study which compared the effectiveness of CBT, medication, the combination of medication, and CBT, against a placebo control. More recently, she was a Co-Investigator in the Family-Focused Therapy (FFT) study, an NIMH study that is evaluating the effectiveness of adding intensive family therapy to standard medication management for adolescents with Bipolar Disorder.
