Dr. Crosby provides psychiatric consultation to children and families referred from around the country. He treats the entire range of psychiatric symptoms with particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of ADHD and the conditions that frequently accompany it such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, and substance use disorders. In 2010, he founded the Center for Attention Disorders at LCOH to consolidate and coordinate LCOH’s efforts related to this illness. Dr. Crosby has been a member of LCOH’s medical staff since the Center opened in 2008. He has provided care in many of LCOH’s service lines, including residential services, inpatient adolescent services, partial hospital programs, and outpatient services.
Dr. Crosby is a mental health advocate who works to reduce stigma and raise awareness. He engages in many local, regional, and national outreach activities including media appearances and educational talks for community members, businesses, professionals. He helped develop and implement Start the Conversation an innovative workplace mental health and anti-stigma four-week workshop. Some of his speaking topics are child and adolescent mental health, ADHD through the age spectrum, anxiety, pediatric suicide, workplace mental health, sensitive leadership, mental wellness and illness during a crisis/pandemic, and the cost of mental illness to individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
Prior to working at Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Crosby provided child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric services primarily for community mental health clients via the Pine Rest Traverse City Clinic in Traverse City, Michigan and the Manistee-Benzie Community Mental Health Center in Manistee and Benzie Counties, Michigan. While there, he managed the outpatient treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with moderate to severe mental illness including disorders of behavior, anxiety, and mood; psychosis; the effects of abuse, neglect, and trauma; and autistic-spectrum illness. Dr. Crosby has also spent time in private practice, in treating veterans at the VA Medical Center, and working with the homeless mentally ill population in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.
