Reporting to the Regional VP, the Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in our Engineering and CAD Department. With a focus on quality and client satisfaction, you will be essential in managing department workflows while overseeing employee contributions. You will ensure that all our engineering and design activities are in compliance with appropriate codes and provincial standards. As you work closely with our Operations Department, your collaboration will be vital in managing project reviews and finalizing approvals for project designs.

Position Responsibilities
Here’s what your day-to-day looks like:
Utilizing your expertise to evaluate and assess project drawings, and stamp and approve final designs.
Ensuring all drawings meet the requirements of Canadian building codes, as well as any Provincial standards.
Collaborating with Estimating and Project teams in the preconstruction phase on the design and delivery of projects.
Design and analyze structural components and systems using both manual and computer-aided techniques to ensure stability and integrity.
Lead the development of structural designs, including creating detailed drawings and specifications for construction projects.
Collaborate with architects, project teams, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated solutions that meet design and functionality goals.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Perform structural assessments and inspections during construction and on existing structures, identifying necessary repairs or modifications.
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and oversight to ensure project success and professional growth.
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies, applying innovative approaches to structural design and problem-solving.
Contribute to the development of internal standards, practices, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of engineering work within the organization.
Evaluate the environmental impact of structures and incorporate sustainable design principles into project plans to promote environmental responsibility and efficiency.
