Erik Chong

Erik Chong has a diverse work experience in the education and language industry. Starting in 2013, they worked as an English Language Instructor at EF Education First, where they taught conversational and business English to teenagers and adults. Erik also managed culturally specific English activities and delivered lessons to both small and large classes. In the same year, they joined Liulishuo as a Content Producer, where they developed and edited situational dialogues and participated in quality control of recorded dialogues. At New Oriental Education & Technology Group from 2015 to 2017, Erik served as a Product Developer, responsible for selecting and editing content for an online platform, producing audio materials, and developing American Secondary School curriculums. From 2017 to 2022, they worked at VIPKID as a Community Engagement Manager, overseeing the communications division of the MCM team and playing a key role in platform updates. Erik's responsibilities also included engaging with contractors as a company spokesperson. Most recently, Erik joined LingoAce in 2022 as a Community Manager, where they predict future growth, manages the copywriting process, and produces content for distribution on social media platforms.

Erik Chong attended York University from 2008 to 2012 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History. In addition, they have obtained several certifications related to teaching English as a foreign language. These certifications include TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from TEFL PROFESSIONAL NETWORK LTD, TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) from Cambridge English, and Teaching English as a Secondary Language from Oxford Seminars.
