Kelly Heier's work experience begins in 2001 when they worked as a Secretary II in Legal/Labor Relations at Detroit Newspapers. Kelly then moved on to Detroit Media Partnership, L.P in 2002 where they worked as an Administrative Coordinator for 13 years. In this role, they provided administrative support, managed budgets and expenses, and maintained employee misconduct records. In 2015, Kelly began working at Link Engineering Company as an Office Administrator and Executive Assistant. Here, they supported various departments and provided executive support to the Vice President of North America Test Operations. Kelly'sresponsibilities included managing invoices, data transfer, front desk management, and creating ID badges.

Kelly Heier earned an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Baker College from 2003 to 2005. Prior to this, they obtained a Paralegal Certification from Henry Ford College in 2003. In addition to their educational background, they obtained a Notary Public certification from Wayne County Michigan in March 2019.
