Nicholas Miller has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Nicholas is currently working as a Lead Data Architect at LinQuest, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Solutions Architect at Cubic Corporation from February 2022 to November 2022.
Nicholas also has experience at LinQuest as a Senior Software Architect from January 2020 to March 2022 and as a System Engineer from April 2017 to January 2020. In these roles, they developed and implemented solutions for contract proposals, architected and implemented Big Data processing solutions, and served as a technical mentor to junior engineers. Nicholas also implemented TLS protocols for encrypted communications.
Before transitioning to the tech industry, Nicholas worked in academia. In addition, Nicholas worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Indiana University Bloomington from May 2013 to August 2013, where they studied Smale's Mean Value Conjecture for quartic polynomials using complex dynamics and presented their research at conferences.
Lastly, Nicholas gained practical engineering experience as an Engineering Intern at Planet Tool and Engineering from May 2012 to August 2012. In this role, they collaborated with senior engineers, designed machines, created purchase orders, and assisted with generating the bill of materials.
Nicholas Miller holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which was obtained between 2018 and 2019. Nicholas previously attended UCLA from 2015 to 2016, where they studied Mathematics without completing a degree. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, Nicholas has obtained several certifications including Senior Big Data Engineer from the Data Science Council of America in 2022, Problem Solving (Basic) and Python (Basic) from HackerRank in 2021, and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in 2018.
