Thusith C. Gunawarnasuriya

Thusith C. Gunawarnasuriya has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Thusith C. began their career as a Systems Engineer at DMS Software Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, where they developed software applications and engaged in business development and marketing. Thusith C. then worked at MAS Holdings as an Engineer/Sourcing/Business Development professional, managing a portfolio of businesses in the apparel and textile manufacturing sector.

Thusith later joined Holcim (Lanka) Ltd as a Strategic Sourcing Manager and later became the Head of Procurement. During their tenure, they were responsible for procurement and strategic sourcing activities. Thusith C. then moved to GlaxoSmithKline as the Head of Procurement, leading procurement operations for the organization.

In 2011, Thusith joined Fonterra Brands Lanka Ltd as the Head of Supply Chain, overseeing supply chain operations for the company. Thusith C. then joined HEMAS Holdings PLC as the Director of Supply Chain, where they managed the supply chain for their manufacturing and consumer brands.

From 2017 to 2021, Thusith worked at INSEE Cement as the Director of Procurement & Logistics. Thusith C. played a key role in driving the company's business in Sri Lanka, developing strategies, managing supply planning, procurement, and logistics, and leading regional projects in supply chain.

After their tenure at INSEE Cement, Thusith became the Chief Executive Officer at Lanwa Sanstha Cement Corporation (Pvt) Limited. Thusith C. led operations at the state-of-the-art cement grinding, blending, and packing plant.

Currently, Thusith holds the position of Chief Supply Chain Officer at Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC, where they are responsible for supply chain operations for the company's renowned Lion Beer brand.

Throughout their career, Thusith has demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and business development in various industries.

Thusith C. Gunawarnasuriya's education history begins with their time at Dharmaraja College - Kandy from 1981 to 1994, where they studied mathematics. Later, they attended the University of Peradeniya from 1997 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Following this, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Colombo, specializing in General Management, from 2003 to 2005. Lastly, Thusith completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Business and Organizational Psychology from Coventry University, from 2017 to 2019.
