James Dowey

James Dowey has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. James currently holds the position of Co-Head of the Global Innovation Investment Team at Liontrust Asset Management PLC, where they started in July 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Fund Manager at the same company from October 2019.

Before joining Liontrust Asset Management PLC, Dowey worked at Neptune Investment Management for a significant duration. James held various roles, including Chief Investment Officer from May 2015 to October 2019, Chief Economist from May 2010 to May 2015, and Economist from May 2007 to May 2010.

Additionally, Dowey worked as a Teaching Fellow at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2010 to 2011, and as an Actuarial Analyst at Barnett Waddingham from 2006 to 2007. James'searlier experience includes working as an Economist at the Centre for International Labour Market Studies at Robert Gordon University from 2004 to 2005.

James Dowey pursued their education in economics, focusing on economic history, at renowned institutions. James began their academic journey at the University of Edinburgh, where they completed their undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics (MA) between 2000 and 2004. To further enhance their knowledge and skills in economics, they proceeded to the University of Cambridge, where they completed a Master's degree in Philosophy (MPhil) in 2006. James concluded their educational pursuit with a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Economic History from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2016.
