Francisca Gomes

Francisca Gomes is a PhD candidate at Universiteit Twente, engaged in a collaborative project with LipoCoat focused on developing engineered synthetic blood cells for emergency therapeutics through advanced droplet generation and lipid coating technologies. This role, which commenced in April 2020, reflects a significant partnership between academic research and the biotech industry. Previous research experiences include positions at IFIMUP-IN and i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, where projects centered on thermo-responsive nanocomposites and biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins. Additionally, research traineeships at the University of Groningen and Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade do Porto involved projects related to magnetic nanocomposites and lipid-based drug delivery systems.
