Scott O'Brien

Scott O'Brien has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Scott started their career at Terrapin Presents, where they worked in ticketing and order management for six years. Following this, they joined Misys Banking Systems as a .NET web developer, where they developed internal web programs.

Scott then moved to Fidessa, where they held various roles over the course of 17 years. Scott started as a Delivery Engineer and worked their way up to the position of Senior Product Manager. In this role, they led a team of product managers and was responsible for market structure and electronic trading products for US Equities. Scott played a pivotal role in moving execution and trading products forward in different regions.

After their time at Fidessa, Scott joined Barclays Investment Bank as a Product Manager. Here, they served as the product owner of the strategic algo suite for US Equities. Scott worked directly with clients, acting as the algo product Subject Matter Expert (SME) and building bespoke strategies. Scott successfully launched new products such as target close and liquidity seek algos, and a custom strategy framework.

Currently, Scott is the Head of Product, Americas at Liquidnet.

Scott O'Brien attended Elon University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Before that, they completed their high school education at Newtown High School from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Scott O'Brien has obtained certifications including the Series 57, Series 63, and Series 7 from FINRA.
