Melanie Downing

Melanie Downing has held a variety of roles throughout their career. Melanie began their professional journey as an Exercise Specialist at SPORTS REACTION CENTER INC in 2007, followed by a role as a Physical Therapist Assistant at ATI Physical Therapy in 2013. In 2016, they moved to Vida Integrated Health as a Physical Therapist Assistant and in 2018, they joined the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business as a Web Applications Developer. In this role, they developed applications with Vue.js and Node, as well as maintained and adapted existing systems in C#/ASP. In 2018, they also took on a Teaching Assistant role at Code Fellows. In 2019, they joined LiquidPlanner as a Software Engineer, where they were recognized for their leadership and organization/prioritization skills. Melanie was responsible for building project management software using Typescript and React for performant and productive development and regularly collaborated with colleagues and mentored others to keep up with new technologies.

Melanie Downing received their Bachelor of Arts in Art Melanie'story, Criticism and Conservation from the University of Washington in 2005. Melanie then obtained a Certification of Applied Functional Science (CAFS) in an unspecified year. In 2011, they earned an Associate of Science in Physical Therapy/Therapist from Green River College. In 2017-2018, they attended Code Fellows and became a Full-Stack JavaScript Developer.
