Greg Nichols has a diverse work experience, starting from their role as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of California, San Diego in 2006. Greg then worked as a Development Engineer at Romny Scientific, where they were responsible for the development of high-performance thermo-electric materials.
In 2008, Greg joined Rainin Instrument LLC as a Mechanical Engineer, later transitioning to the role of Project Engineer in Automation and then Project Engineer in Product Design. Greg worked on various engineering projects and gained experience in product design and automation.
In 2011, Greg became a Consulting Engineer at Amber Kinetics, Inc., where they provided engineering and business development support and contributed to the successful launch of Berkeley Energy Science Corporation. During this time, they also wrote a grant proposal that secured a $1.8M California Energy Commission grant.
Greg then joined Tesla Motors in 2013 as a Manufacturing Engineer focused on battery production. Greg continued to grow within the company, becoming a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and eventually a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Battery. In their role, they contributed to the manufacturing processes of Tesla's batteries.
In 2019, Greg joined Bellwether Coffee as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, where they worked until 2020. Greg then joined Liminal as a Director of Engineering, overseeing engineering operations until 2021.
From 2021 to 2023, Greg served as the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Battery at Rivian, where they played a key role in the manufacturing engineering department.
Currently, Greg holds the position of Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Lithos Energy, Inc., a role they have been in since 2023.
Greg Nichols completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at UC San Diego from 2003 to 2007. Greg further pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering Operations Research at the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2008.
