James Thornton

James Thornton has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. James started their career as Of Counsel at Thornton Taylor & Downs in 1997, where they worked until 2000. Following this, they joined Sybron Dental Specialties - Danaher Corporation and held various positions including Assistant General Counsel and Vice President - General Counsel from 2000 to 2012. In 2012, James joined Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc. where they served as General Counsel, Compliance Officer & Secretary for six years. Currently, James is employed at LivaNova as the Vice President, Chief Risk Officer, a role that they have held since 2018.

James Thornton has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics & History from the University of Virginia. James also has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Marquette University Law School. Additionally, they hold a Certificate from Harvard Business School Executive Education, with a focus on Strategy, Brand Management, Collaboration, and Leadership. Furthermore, they have completed the Leadership Development Programme from London Business School.
