Delane Hewett

Delane Hewett has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Delane started their career at Boeing in 1987, where they served as a Software Developer and Technical Manager. During their time there, they played a key role in developing a world-class Manufacturing Information System and advised senior management on information strategies and opportunities. Delane also implemented various methodologies and tools across the Fabrication Division.

In 1992, Hewett joined Microsoft and held multiple roles, including Architect and various technology leadership positions. Delane contributed to the company for 14 years before moving on to new opportunities.

In 2006, Hewett became a part of SecondSpace Inc., a VC-funded startup focused on building a web platform and marketplace for second-home verticals. Delane joined as Chief Architect and later became the Chief Technology Officer. Delane built the technology team, platform, and sites, playing a crucial role in the company's early stages.

Following their time at SecondSpace, Hewett joined Datasphere Technologies, Inc. in 2006 as the CTO and SVP of Engineering. Delane led the Product, Engineering, and Technology organization, overseeing the delivery of the software platform and suite of products.

From 2017 to 2020, Hewett worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group as the CTO - Digital and General Manager. Delane led various divisions, including Development, Product, Marketing, IT, Sales, and Operations. Delane was responsible for sales, marketing, analytics, and big data for small and medium-sized businesses.

In 2020, Hewett took on the role of a Builder, Advisor, and Entrepreneur, where they investigated industry and consumer needs and provided consulting services for startups in areas such as ML-based Customer Journey Orchestration and AI-based Rideshare opportunities.

In 2021, they joined OfferUp as a Technology Leader, leading teams across Data Services, Data Science, ML, Customer Journeys & Personalization, Business Intelligence, Advertising, and Monetization. OfferUp is the largest mobile marketplace for local buyers and sellers in the US.

Most recently, in 2022, Hewett assumed the position of Chief Technology Officer at FORWARD Platform.

Delane Hewett pursued post-graduate coursework in Computer Science at The George Washington University in 1990. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1986, Hewett obtained a Master's degree in Engineering from Washington State University. Earlier, from 1980 to 1984, Hewett completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, also from Washington State University.
